PlayStation floor kiosk

The story

Sony's first kiosk had to convince people a newcomer could compete with Nintendo and Sega. It went into stores for the September 1995 launch and did the job well.

Department stores like Sears are often remembered as the place people first played a PlayStation.

  • The console sits locked inside the cabinet, running demo discs.
